How It All Started
Back in my engineering days at MS Ramaiah College in Bangalore, when Orkut was all the rage, there was this trend where people started posting their childhood pictures. That’s when it hit me—I only had a couple of childhood photos compared to everyone else. It struck a chord. Around the same time, mobile phones with built-in cameras were becoming popular, so I started snapping photos of everything: my friends, college life, our hostel, and all the places we traveled. I quickly realized how much I enjoyed it, and soon, I was seeing the world in a whole new way—through my camera.

My First Camera Adventure
I saved up enough to buy my first point-and-shoot Nikon, and I was hooked. That camera went with me everywhere. I’d drag my friends out on mini adventures around Bangalore and nearby spots, shooting nature, street scenes, and posed portraits. Photography wasn’t just a hobby anymore—it was something I couldn’t stop thinking about.

From Hobby to Obsession
When I landed my first job at Infosys as a software engineer, I treated myself to my first DSLR (and got it through a friend from the U.S.). That DSLR, along with my Bajaj Pulsar bike, became my go-to duo. I took it everywhere—to office parties, out on the road, capturing portraits of friends, landscapes, and anything that caught my eye. Photography became my way of exploring and sharing experiences with others.

Going Bigger
After Infosys, I went on to pursue my MBA in Goa, and on day one, I knew I had to join the college photography club, Sprockets. I started capturing all the events around campus and even won a college photo contest (my photos ended up in the gallery!). I even got the chance to shoot a short film project, which was an amazing experience. Even though I was busy with life and work after my MBA, photography stayed with me wherever I went.

Taking the Leap
In May 2024, I made a big decision and moved to Melbourne, ready to chase photography full-time. Over the past two months, I’ve been lucky enough to cover some incredible events like the GT Challenge Phillip Island Circuit, the National Padel Tournament, and the Nike Melbourne Marathon. After years of balancing photography with other careers, I finally decided to take the leap and left my insurance job to pursue my passion wholeheartedly.

The Journey Continues
Now, photography is my life. It’s how I see and share the world—whether it’s the beauty of a landscape, the energy of an event, or the story behind a portrait. I’m just getting started, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next.
